Here are some of our favorite fun places to take the kids near Ontario CA.

Glendora Historical Society Museum

The Glendora Historical Society Museum boasts a diverse range of artifacts from the 1800s to the 1900s. Exhibits include farm tools, period furniture, household accessories, documents, office equipment, clothing, and more, which are great for giving kids an idea of what life was like in the past. You could also take a tour or explore the gift shop, which has ornaments, books, reproductions, and artifacts related to Glendora’s past. 

Galster Wilderness Park

Galster Wilderness Park is a 42-acre parkland on the northern slope of the San Jose Hills. In addition to the abundance of green spaces, wildlife, and diverse plant life in the area, the park features the Galster Wilderness Park Nature Center, a museum and educational facility with exhibits on the natural environment in the area. Kids can learn about one of the last remaining native communities of Southern California Black Walnut, plants, fossils, animal adaptations, and mineral identification. 

Arcadia Wilderness Park

Arcadia Wilderness Park is a peaceful parkland that’s great for families. Located in the San Gabriel Mountains, the park features a nature center with exhibits on local wildlife and plant life as well as hiking trails that travel through the diverse environment. You’ll also find picnic space and grass-covered fields for outdoor activities, giving kids plenty of opportunities for fun.

West Covina Library

The West Covina Library has plenty of free and exciting programs for kids throughout the year. Kids can enjoy story time, singalongs, fingerplays, and other play activities with other kids. The library also offers magic shows, juggling acts, and other unique events. In the summer, the library has a reading program with prizes for participation.

San Dimas Canyon Nature Center

The San Dimas Canyon Nature Center is a vast conservation area with walking and hiking trails, an animal sanctuary, and kids’ learning programs. You can stroll along pathways through the wilderness to experience local plant life and wildlife, watch wildlife presentations on weekends, and enjoy other activities that are perfect for a day out with the kids.

Dalton Park

Dalton Park is a picturesque neighborhood park with an array of fun outdoor activities for kids. The playground offers plenty of fun play structures, swings, and other equipment for hours of enjoyment, and adults can visit the fitness zone to get a workout in. In the warm summer months, Dalton Park opens a splash pad to help kids cool off in the heat. You’ll also find sports fields and courts, a community center, picnic areas, and activity programs at the park.

A farm and animal sanctuary, All Gods Creatures Petting Zoo offers public storytime with live mini horses, as well as bunny parties, photo shoots, a petting zoo, pony rides with decorated/themed ponies, and even more for that magical experience.

The Ride7D

An immersive interactive motion ride experience, for those who enjoy the digital world. This 8-passenger simulator with 3D and 4D effects. No reservations are needed, but there is a minimum height requirement which is 40″. Kids smaller than 40′ must sit on your lap.
