2023 Honda HR-V Overview
What's new for 2023?
The Honda HR-V is all-new for its second generation, returning for 2023 with increased power, more standard features and tech, and enhanced curb appeal. It's an excellent choice for Ontario drivers looking to add versatility to their daily driver while retaining convenient space requirements.
Performance
The 2023 HR-V finds motivation in a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque, increases of 12% and 8.6%, respectively, over its first-gen predecessor (141 hp, 127 lb-ft). Power runs to the front wheels through a responsive continuously variable transmission. And Real Time AWD™ is available on any trim, so you don't have to spring for the extra features of a higher tier if you just want extra traction for low grip situations.
Design
A fresh makeover for 2023 gives the HR-V a more assertive aesthetic, with a broader stance and a more squared-up front end highlighted by sharping lighting clusters and a dynamic new grille design. The 2023 model also features updated 17-inch and available 18-inch alloy wheel designs and new color options like Nordic Forest Pearl and Urban Gray Pearl.
On the inside, the 2023 HR-V is simple yet stylish, with a streamlined and intuitive layout, quality materials, and attractive design elements like a new dash with honeycomb detailing, similar to the interior of the redesigned Honda Civic. There's ample room for passengers in either row, and the seats are nicely cushioned and bolstered for long-distance comfort.
The HR-V retains 24.4 cubic feet for cargo with all seats in use. And when you need more room for your errands and adventures, the rear seats fold easily, expanding capacity to 55.1 cubic feet.
Technology and Safety
Behind the steering wheel, a 7-inch Driver Information Interface is standard and customizable to your preferences, allowing you to easily view a range of details, such as driver-aid status, navigation directions, average MPG, and more.
The 2023 HR-V features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. The display also shows the standard Multi-Angle Rearview Camera, with three different views-normal, top-down, and wide-giving you a better picture of potential objects in your path when in Reverse. EX-L models get a more advanced 9-inch display with wireless smartphone integration, plus a wireless charging pad, allowing you to cut the cord entirely.
All 2023 HR-V models include the latest iteration of Honda Sensing®, a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance technologies that support attentive driving, assist hazard detection and avoidance, and even help mitigate driving fatigue. No matter which tier you select, you'll get the enhanced confidence and convenience of features like:
- Forward Collision Warning and Collision Mitigation Braking System
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow and Traffic Jam Assist
- Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keeping Assist System
- Road Departure Mitigation System
- Rear Seat Reminder
- Auto High-Beam Headlights
- Traffic Sign Recognition System
